Modem Benchmarking

Does anyone know of any good software for benchmarking modems, I have two 56k v90 modems, both are ISA, and seem almost identical in features, both are cheap brands. The Newcom uses an ESS Chipset and the BTC uses a PCTel Chipset. I want to figure out which will be the better performer.
