I'm tring to uninstall an ATI video card (ATI instructions say this must be done) in order to install the latest XP drivers. However, I can't stop XP from reinstalling the old drivers after rebooting. Any ideas on how to proceed would be appreciated. TIA

Right click desktop/properties/settings/advanced/adapter/properties/driver/uninstall

When it restarts, Don't let it choose, click the square that allows the user to install "OWN" drivers.

On reboot there is no option to cancel or to install Own drivers or to do anything. Any other thoughts?

hi,
u ll have to deaktivate the display driverund reboot in Safe mode!!!Aftwerwards Search for ati.* and delete all this files found.Last step should be de installing all multimedia pakages that came with the Card.
Maybe u should copy the \install\r6xx folderto yer HDD first.
Now reboot
Choose driver->HaveDisk and klick till ya get to the r6xx folder
U can use any inf file.
Do not reboot, install Chipset AGP drivers, do not reboot install newest DX version, now reboot.
