I'm running an ABIT BH-6 with an old PII 266 slot I. this set-up was running fine until yesterday. I'm not able to boot the system. the screen is blank and the monitor does not power up. the power supply is running fine and everything else seems to get power, C drive A drive CD Rom etc. when the power is turned on, the fan (PWR SUPPLY) comes on and the light (on the case)flickers. I can open and close the CDROM and the fan on the CPU has begun to make a rare sound as if it was getting stuck. I have disconnected all of the devices attached to my system except for the video card.
here is a description of my system

ABIT BH6 model BL134020
160MB of SDRAM PC100
Intel Express 3D graphics card
Pentium II 266 CPU

Are all of the fans running properly? I got a board once that had a faulty fan... it couldn't spin unless I gave it a push... BIOS will actually check to see if the fan is running before allowing the system to boot... at least with my KG7-RAID mobo. I pulled out the fan to test it once, and sure enough, it wouldn't POST. So check if your fans are all running at full speed.

It sounds like the processor has died.

You can run up to a P3-1000 MHz slot 1 in that board.
