Okay, I'm an idiot!!! I need to recover data from a hard drive that's been formatted. I won't go into all of the sad details but here's the basic situation. I have 2 20GB drives. C: is NTFS with Windows XP installed. D: is FAT32, this I just use for data storage. It was formatted but no new data has been written to it. I heard about Lost and Found from Powerquest but it seems to be discontinued and I'm not sure it would work since I'd have to install it on XP. I could put the drive in my other computer which has Windows 98 if I had to, would rather not go that route. I certainly want to spend as little as possible on software. Any advice on the best way to proceed would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey, drop me an email and I'll mail you something that just might save your data (or at least most of it).
Be sure you're able to get 1MB+ attachments on your email provider, as the proggy is just a little bit more then 1MB.

P.S. And turn on the option to mail you from within the board, otherwise I could already send it to you.

Best Regards ...

Thanks for the help guys. ND, I sent you an e-mail with my address and I also turned on the e-mail thing (I think). I know there has to be some way to get this data back. I don't want to spend a fortune to send it to a data recovery place though. Still would like to hear from anyone who has used Lost and Found or similar software.
