Can anyone tell me where I can take the A+ Certification test in the LA area, and also, how much does it cost?

TIA,
Mike

Hi mjmaltese

Check CompUSA stores. I know they had testing sites, but I haven't checked in awhile.

Good luck!

Search from All About A+ (http://www.comptia.com/certification/aplus/all_about_aplus.htm) for a complete list of testing centers. They are really all over the place. I went to a little place called "Computer Network Inovations" on the corner of Nordhof and Topanga in the San Fernando Valley. The cost varies depending on vouchers you may have received from training classes or the purchase of study materials, but generally they cost about $128 for each module e.g. $128 for the "Core" and $128 for the "Software"* (*DOS/Windows) module = $256 total. You must pass both module within 90 days of each other in order to be certified. All current tests are in the adaptive format, wich means that there are a lot fewer questions than the old tests but they can be markedly more difficult. The tests are slated for major changes around January 2001, so if you plan to take the old test you had better do so befor the end of December of this year. I highly recommend that you study for the tests - do not throw your money away, there is a possibility that you may not pass. Anyway check the link I gave here for more details and information.
