my printer doesn't work in dos. I have to print from dos for a homework assignment. The commands work in the lab just not on my box. Any help appreciated. I'm running 95B w/a cannon bjc 2000 printer. barry

That printer is not DOS compatible. Sorry to break the news to you.

Barry, are you printing from pure DOS, or DOS running in Windoz? If in Windoz, the "emulated" DOS box should be able to print. Go to a DOS box, navigate to the root of C: and type:
dir >prn
If that prints, you should be able to print from a DOS prog running in Windoz. Go to Control Panel/ Printers & right-click your printer & choose Properties. Click the Details tab, hit Port settings & check "Spool MS-Dos print jobs". Another thing to try is in some DOS progs, selecting "Print" needs to be followed by pressing any key (space bar) to get it going.
