For months I have been raising hell at Southwestern bell to get DSL in our area, they say there is not enough interest for their company to set up another station. MY COMPUTER IS less than a mile out of range. I have heard of a "Repeater" Can this suppliment for the space? Thanks,

A repeater is used to strengthen the signal going through a cable because the signal degrades with distance. Catagory 5 10base T cable has a maximum distance of 100 meters (I think, it's been a while). So if you need to stretch it farther than that, you'd use a repeater to make the signal strong again somewhere inbetween. Unfortunately, buying one would not help you out. It's all on your phone company, so I'd suggest looking into cable or satellite connections.

My local company is Americrap and they can't even install phones right and yet there advertising like crazy about speedpath DSL. I say stop wasting the money on Adveristing and start hooking people up you idiots.
