Hi, I just need some confirmation about my A7V. It is the first version with dipswitches for multiplier. I am running a thunderbird socket A 800mhz. My problem is that i put the voltage to auto and it does display 1.7v in the bios but when i go to windows, asusprobe displays the cpu voltage as 1.8. Also, it is very hot! 66c! now if i went to bios and put the voltage to 1.6, it would display 1.7 in windows asus probe. Also, the system is very stable and the temp is a little lower around 50c or so! Is there something wrong with my motherboard? I have the 1004 bios installed. So far, my computer doesnt hang anymore. Before it used to! Can u shed some light?

Mine reads 1/2 a volt higher in Probe than what the actual setting is. Apparently that is normal, and has something to do with the way the BIOS is reading the voltages (and temps also, for that matter). I use the dips and jumpers for all settings (supposedly more stable). If you're running cooler and more stable at the lower voltage setting, hey...all the power to ya!

But how do i really know what voltage my CPU is running at?? I mean .1 volt below the default is kind of too low. Dont must CPUs hang if you put a low voltage?
