Also, my CPU is running at 55 degrees with an external fan. With the heatsink and fan combo alone it goes up to 66. IS this normal?? The thermometer is the one that comes with the A7V so its more accurate and the temp is higher but is it supposed to be that high? T-bird 800mhz

You using heatsink grease? That sounds a bit high.

Is that a temperature spike or is it the running temperature? You generally don't want CPU running temps over 50C, and spikes over 65C. Also, the location of the thermometer will affect the temperature reading.

yup i did put heatsink grease. It's kinda hot here in the Philippines. Nomral temp is around 50, and it shoots up to 55 under 100% usage. It's kinda hot to the touch a little.

is that a stock heatsink, fan? it's probably a good idea to spend a few bucks on a good h/f combo. golden orb's pretty cheap and it really looks funky. hope this helps
