Win Me Plus! or Active Destop??

Since i use win Me, i found that it force me to use plus! or active destop!
If dont use plus! i change my wallpaper and it said i must enable Active destop first to use the wall paper i change.
I have heard that both of them were not very good to the system, so what should i do?

active desktop is only required if the wallpaper is not in BMP format. Convert it to BMP and you can use it without active desktop.

Otheos is correct. Change your other image formats into a bitmap (bmp) and you can have them without running active desktop or plus. Personally I dislike "themes" and run standard cursers and a static background image and find that it works much better than either of the other options.

One more thing, why themes cant attract u to use it? Is it making the system slow down?

Yep. Themes do take up additional system resources and if you get some poorly designed themes they will cause all kinds of headaches. lol
