I have a empty hard drive and Windows NT 4.0 full version. The problem is my boot manager doesn't want to install it onto the new hard drive. It wants to make space on my existing hard drive which will take hours to move the data.

The existing hard drive has windows 98 and the empty one has nothing now and has been converted to fat not fat 32. I'm looking for the easiest way to get windows NT 4.0 onto the new hard drive. What do I have to do to prepare the new hard drive for NT ?????

Hi,

I understand that you want to install NT on the "empy" HD. So, I believe this "empty" HD is set as master on IDE 1.
If so, as the NT CDROM is bootable, just boot your PC from the CD rom and create your partition during the NT install wizard.

Now, if you want to dual-boot with NT (and keep Win98), the 1s partition needs to be FAT16 (not FAT32).
If this is the case, run the NT wizard from Win98 and it will set up the dual boot automatically...

Hope that helps
