I need to hook up my VCR (an maybe an analog camcorder) to my computer to edit a video and add music. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? I have found one product that looks like it may be what I want: http://www.dazzle.com
but is it? Is there a better / cheaper alternative? Thanks.

I dont know how much the dazzle costs but you have two alternatives, either get a card that has only one purpose, which is to capture and edit video (e.g. pinnacle systems products) or get an AGP 3d accelerator that has TV in/out. I use an ASUS V3800 ultra deluxe TVR that has a tv in/out. So far, it's been consistent capturing 704x480 at 30fps. If you have enough in your budget to get you one of these, i think it's well worth it.
ok, thanks. I'll look at those options.
