My c800 just shuts down all of a sudden (no shutdown sequence)whenever I am working for a while. I think it may be overheating. I have Win2k SP1, I updated to the latest BIOS. When I run the system diagnostics cd (for hardware) everything works fine. It doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

It seems as though the fan doesn't turn on enough and some breaker turns the computer off. The fan comes on enough when I'm not in Win2k. ( I don't do the hardware diagnostics in Win2k) Some days the fan turns on and everything is fine, other days it doesn't. Its getting more and more that the fan doesn't turn on though.

If your having a heat problem you should send it in for repairs especially if you still under warranty, could end up frying the machine for that matter if power supply isn't working rite you may need to replace batteries or adapter. Does your machine use a 3 prong plug there is a problem with laps that use 2 prong plug they end up burning out might look into that as well.
