Since 16x DVD transfer data at a sustained 21000 Kbps would a SCSI card that does 20MB/sec be too slow for a 16x DVD SCSI?

Barney 10-15-2000, 05:54 PM I think it would be,but I also think it doesn't matter very much.Like with a normal 50x CD-rom player or so,you hardly get that full speed out of it,because it's only that fast when it really needs to be that fast, what's (almost) never happens. Ronald otheos 10-16-2000, 06:28 AM it'll be ok, after all the DVD is an ultraSCSI device so 20MB/s is all it can do. I know of no UW DVD drives (40MB/s) so, you'll be fine. Do you use many DVD-Rom based data? EDIT: Sorry Barney but DVD's are still slow enough (spindle) to be CLV so they do 16x all the time.
