I have a free (sort of) internet ISP from Cosco, which I get as part of my dues.
The problem is the screen with the adds that sits there is too big, and can't really be reshaped. I can move it, but not reshape it smaller.
I don't want to make them disappear, just make them a little smaller. Where would I look for this setting? Is it in the registry or somewhere else where I can change the values?
Thanks in advance...

I think that if you can't change the shape, you just can't change the shape.
All you can do is go to a larger resolution for your monitor,so it will take less space on your screen.

Ronald, true enough. But somewhere, somehow, something is telling the box how big to be. I want to know where that somewhere is...I need to make it about 1/3 smaller.

i'm about 99% sure it's in the html code of the page/ad being loaded, which is server side and you can't modify

I had the same problem but I removed the ads completely by deleting the X-STREAM (My ISP) installation software folder and removing the registry entries.
Open regedit and do a search for your ISP - then delete the key.
Dunno whether it would work for you but its worth a go.
Couldn't you just setup your connection to your free ISP as a Direct Dial up networking connection??? I've since done this on a new machine and it works find - No ads - Just surf'tastic , internet'mungous!!!

Cyphen is right its in the pages loaded from the webserver. Deletion is the only way round it.

I think you mean Costco, not Cosco.
Their free internet software is big (over 3MB), which is typical when Yahoo is attached.
How wide is the banner? Mine is only 1&1/2 inches. If this is smaller, try any of the free internet services using the 1stUp microportal (AltaVista, Excite, etc.). The software for these is less than 1MB (until they download a video add -- which can easily be deleted).
