does this thing really work? or does it slow down your computer so much to a crawl from taking too much out of your cpu to give your more memory? Is there any other better memory manager then this beause this is the only one I know of.

Personally, i don't like programs like that - i messed with them in the old days, where a memory increase of a few megs was a huge leap.
In these times where memory is cheap, i wouldn't use it - it eats up cpu power when compressing and decompressing the data in memory - i know it is an highly optimized routine, but still think of the time it takes to compress a 128 meg file to 64 - now imagine that going on several times an hour...

My dad recetnly replaced his computer becuase of over-compression. It has become very clear to me that you can only compress a drive so much, until it is so compressed, there is nothing left?!

Those programs are bogus. They only simulate more RAM but in a real world they just act as parazites. Increase in few megs are not worth of 10-35% decrase in overall system resources.

THEY PROBABLY do give your a little more memory but at great expense of slowing down your computer to a crawl? expensive program if you ask me, should be free.

I agree. If you want to have desktop office PC that programs are OK, but if you try to run some intensive game on a system with few RAM your PC start to cough. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
