I am presently using a 56K V90 ISA Modem - and I have read that the same modem in a USB model would be quite abit faster than my present 56K Modem. Could/is this REALLY true or should I save me money??

It's possible but I doubt it, even the bandwidth of the ISA bus is quite a bit larger than 56k/s, so the bus is not slowing the flow of data, just because the modem is on a faster bus, doesn't mean it will receive any faster, data will only travel as fast as the input. ISA, PCI and USB can all handle, 56k per second with no problem, so if everything is exactly the same they will all receive at the same speed (at 56k per second)

My 56K ISA modem is actually faster than my 56K PCI modem. As far as I know, the speed of the modem has nothing to do with the speed of the bus. As LJE2 said, even ISA is more than capable of dealing with the fastest bandwidth of a conventional modem.
