PLez help me out. My sytem specs are
Intel Pentium 3 667 Mhz coppermine @ 925 (185x5)
Asus Cusl2 i815e
384 mb pc 133 memory @ 139 cas 2
Leadtek Geforce 2 GTS 32 MB DDR @ 210/380 with 22.80 det 4 drivers @ 2x agp fastwrites off sideband on
SB Live!
40 gb 7200 rpm seagate barracuda IV
windows xp professional final build v2600
nvmax optimized sacrificing iq for speed
My gts doesn't give me the desired speed i would expect of a gts. In giants @800x600 x 16 bpp to 1280x1024 x 16 bpp @ default detail (max) with d3d t&l on, my gts is just pumpin 15 to 20 fps average, 50 if u look at a wall 1 inch in front of u. Sacrifice @ 800x600 to 1280 x 1024 x 16 bpp in very high and insane detail level also suffers major slowdowns when more characters are on the screen, about 5 to 1o fps during slowdowns, 20 to 30 average. Max Payne @1024x768 by 16 bpp @ medium also suffers heavily. Ut is no longer acceptable in 1280 x 1024 with the slowdowns. Please help, this is not wut i expect of my gts, i would expect it to run giants and sacrifice satifisfactoryl. thanks.

Try disabling the sound card and test the game/s. It maybe your SB LIve is the problem.

The problem is that you're running Direct3d games that was optimized to run on Win9x.

The prob isn't in the OS it's somewhere else.. I would think... I run UT on XP PRO with an AMD 1Gig with resolution @ 1200x??x32 with over 80FPS and the slowest it ever gets is 50FPS and I am runnin a radeon VE with both monitors runnin...

I would say check out the SB Live first and see if it's the prob... If that don't work try disabling services you don't need in XP. Go here to see what all the services do and which ones you can disable (http://www.3dspotlight.com/tweaks/win2k_services/index.shtml) I know it says for win2k but they are the same for XP, AFAIK. If this still doesn't work. You can always try compatability mode just in case the problem actually is the OS.

How do i access this compatibility mode? Disabling the sb live only got me 1 to 5 fps more. My 3dmark 2k1 scores are around 3350 @ 24 bit z buffer instead of 32.
