I'm sure that some of you have heard of a little program called deepfreeze.

It creates a backup of your FAT table on an unused part of your hard drive. Then it "freezes" your drive. From now on, every time you reboot your computer it loads the backup FAT image over the primary FAT image.

In short, any changes you make, weather it be changing the desktop, downloading a file, installing a program, or saving a document, and change that you make will be reverted when you restart your computer.

There is no way to delete the backup FAT short of formating the drive, which is easily prevented by making the floppy unbootable from the BIOS, then putting a password on the BIOS, and then to prevent people from resetting the BIOS, locking the case.

With this setup, anything that happens (short of physical abuse) cannot affect the computer.

You are also able to set up "thawed" portions of the drive in which you can write to without losing you data.

Supposedly there is a $500 reward for anyone who can "break the ice" on Deep Freeze. I am not sure of this though.

There's the scoop on Deep Freeze, hope ya like it.
