I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the vertical menu speed in Windows. What I eman is that I have a start menu that is like 2 miles long and I hat having to wait for it to scroll down the list. Is there any way to speed it up?

I can't answer your question directly but can give you advice: put alike links in subfolders. In a folder labeled "Audio/Visual", I have Quicktime, RealPlayer, Music Match, etc. I also have a folder named "Games". That should easily shorten your list.

Warthog has the right idea. If you make categorical folders for all your Programs menu and your Favorites Menu, it will be much easier to find things. Do your Favorites from your Windows Explorer. Much easier to Cut & Paste. C:\Windows\Favorites After you have done this you can right click on the menu's and Sort By Name.

Here is a page on speeding up the time it takes for the menu's to pop out. I use zero on my computer. Remeber that when you set your value. Zero works great for me. It takes a little to get used to but you will.

You can get into your Display Properties and Effects tab, and take out the check in "Animate Windows, Menus and Lists".

Presently I am working on a tutorial for organizing the Favorites menu. I'll be posting it on Beemer's Windows Tips soon.

Another trick I use to make the "mouse work" a little easier is rename your Favorites URL's. When saving a page to your Favorites you have the option of renaming the file before you save. Rename it using only a few well chosen words. Your menu width will be much smaller. This will help when navigating through the folders of a particular category. You won't have to slide your cursor across half your screen because of long file names above and below.

There is always a tweak that will make windoze show the entire menu (in columns) instead of having to scroll through it.

Anyone know what that tweak is?

Here, I found it:

Windows 95 had one nice feature that was dropped from Win98. When you had too many
programs to fit in one column on the Start/Programs menu, a second column with the
additional items appeared beside it. In Windows 98, however, you have to scroll from the
bottom of the column to see more items.

But you can make your Windows 98 Programs menu work like Windows 95's by adding a
line to your Registry. (For guidance on editing the Registry, click here.)

Click on the Start button and on Run. Type regedit and click on OK to bring up the
Registry Editor.

In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_
MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ explorer\Advanced. Right-click on
Advanced and select New and String Value. Name the new string that appears in the right
pane StartMenuScrollPrograms without spaces and with capitals as shown. Then
right-click on the icon beside the name you just created and select Modify.

An Edit String dialogue box appears. In the Data field, enter the word false and click on
OK. Close the Registry.

Tweakui allows adjusting the "popup" speed also.
