Hi, I just bought a new HP 7935 which is a 1.3 ghz with 256 mg ram. I have a Gforce MX 400 with 64 megs of ram.
I am running XP home edition. I just bought a TV Wonder VE capture card and when I try to install it when it gets to a file named "BT848.SYS my computer reboots.

This is during the driver setup. I have tried the drivers that came with the card and I have also downloaded the newest drivers for XP from ATI.

I have DirectX 8.1 Also.

Can someone please tell me what I can do to fix this?

Is it a compatability issue?

Many Thanks,

JR

Hello, I currently have a tv wonder and had all kinds of problems in the beginning. I have got it boiled down to the drivers not supporting the sharing of irq's. but this is on windows 98se so it might just be a idea on what to look at. I have tech support emails if you would like to read those. Good luck on you card. I do like it though.

OOps, didn't see you had it figured to a compatibily issue. Anyway what you have to do is disable some items like say.
usb, printer port, serial ports. That is if the items are not being used. This process allows for irq to be freed up for the card to eventually have its own irq. Once that was done, it has worked great on my pc. If you can't free up enough irq then from what i gathered from ati is your sorta sol.
and again that was on 98se, I don't know if this will help with xp.
