I am not very experienced with computer hardware. I had a motherboard go bad on my. I bought a used but working motherboard and CPU. It arrived today and I was using a downloaded manual to hook it up. I ran into a problem. It has no VGA header. I don't know if I need some other addapter that plugs into the board. If that is the case I can't see what header it will use. I hope it just means that I need a video card. The motherboard is baby at Model SP-A586B. If someone can help me out I would appreciate it.

IN other words, yes you need a video card. You have the choice of AGP or PCI video cards. AGP is the newest and fastest style.

I will research and find the best video card for me. The computer is just a spare to backup records and for word processing so I don't need a high end 3D graphics processor. I had no idea that boards were made without onboard video. Every computer I have had came with it. I guess you learn something everyday. Thanks!
