I have a ATX Motherboard Asus P3W-E JumperFree ATX and I'm having a lot of troubles with it. Let's see if you could help me.

1 - Two months ago, after using the computer for a week without problems, in the next day the computer could not detect my hard disk. So I turn it off some times and the problem was gone.

2 - This last weekend I used the computer all saturday and in the Sunday morning when I try to use again, it did not detect the hd again, and asked to rebbot it every time(4 times) in the 5th time it would not turn on at all and a louder bip went on( bip 2 seconds bip 2seconds ...) Now when a try to turn on the computer the only thing that happens is the lights in the panel go on and the fan works, but the monitor stills off.

Please help me,

My machine:

Pentium 3 850 MHZ 128MB RAM 2 Hard Disks (10 Gb each) CDROM Monitor 17'' Win 2000 server and professional

Thanks,

Sounds like a video problem, P3W has no onboard video or agp slot so i assume you have a pci video card in the 1st slot, try reseating your video card, if that does not work try replacing it.

I am using the onboard video, If I insert a new PCI video card, the system will find it?, because when it starts the only thing that happen is the beep every 2 seconds.

Should I reset the cmos? After I placing the video card what should I do?

Thanks for your help

Oooppss My Bad, P3W-E has onboard video, sorry,
Just put the video card into the 1st Pci slot ( closest to the top) should recognize etc, bios change can be made from agp to pci.
No need to reset cmos. Just make sure you have drivers for the video card handy
