What about a scsi controller card(Adaptec)?

You dont need a socket spacer since AMD Socket A CPU's have rubber feet on them.
And you need a SCSI card if you wanna run those SCSI devices. Thats gunna run you up a bit more money, depending on the SCSI requirements for the CD-roms.
OK will these parts be compatible with each other or not??????!?!?!?
How much are the SCSI cards are anyway, and how many of them do I need?
Ok here are the few changes:
8/4/32X PLEXWRITER EIDE/ATAPI W/SW instead of the 12/10/32X SCSI version
Kenwood 72X TrueX instead of Plextor Ultraplex SCSI 40X
what do you think?

myself i'd use the asus a7v m/b (i just like it nothing wrong with the abit) and i'd buy a different nic card .ive had conflict error's with 3com's . you can find other's that will work just as well cheaper.(you pay for that 3com name.)

Is this gonna be an "on-line" competition gamer or a "at-home" machine.
Some forethought about this may help, you may want to get the 98lite to remove Internet Explorer integration from the Desktop.
This reputedly speeds up things a bunch.
Several others here have made comments regarding this.
Also, it is supposed to replace the Windows98 Explorer also with the Win95 Explorer,, I dunno how this helps but the stats are convincing.
http://www.98lite.net
It's only $25 ,
BUT, it must be installed PRIOR to the O/S to be most effective.
A question I have for the masses, if one deletes all traces of IE, do you install like Netscape for a browser or what ?
Lets see if all 15,000 questions can be handled before this guy builds this machine, so it's done right the FIRST time http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

One more thought, If your mobo is RAID capable, why not get the 2 or 4 HD's that it'll support rather than one super large one?
"MB = Abit KT7-RAID"
I assume that is what the Abit KT7 Raid stands for..
Ok tell me more about HD's how would I benefit from 2 smaller size HD let's say 15GB each??? Now I also got FPS1800, is it good ( I haven't unpackaged it yet), should I just go returne it, and get the something better for the same price?? Also which NIC should I get?

I would recommend 2 SCSI HDD's. One for your OS and utils, the other for games/mp3's. Personally I would go with the Asus A7V mainboard, since you won't be using the RAID and you have an Asus video card. Kudos on your choice of ram tho, heard many good things about Mushkin, and you can't beat CAS2. Personally tho, I'd save my money on the RAM and get 256MB of VC133. The sound card, I don't know anything about Monster, I love my SBLive. Very good choice in CDROM's, plextor is numero uno in my book. Your floppy sucks, but who cares about floppies. Get yourself a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, or a Razor Boomslang (if you can afford it). Wireless mice suck, trackballs suck, optical kicks ***. The best audio besides a full stereo system is the Klipsch 400. I like your choice in HDD, besides the fact that it's not SCSI, but I don't know that SCSI is any faster than ATA/100. The Asus mobo also has ATA/100. What did you get for a case? Can you point to it online or is it nothing special?

If you really want to be set straight I can list all the parts you should get, equal to the price you're already spending.
BTW, what is FPS1800? A speaker system?

MB = Asus A7V
CPU = You had it right.
Cooling = Senfu water cooling & peltier (don't bother with the peltier if you don't know what one is) www.plycon.com (http://www.plycon.com)
RAM = 256MB PC133 7.5ns
Video = GeForceGTS
HDD = Wester Digital ATA/100
Other than that I think your choices were fine, cdroms etc.. but if you were going to get the Abit KT7-RAID, why not go with RAID HDD setup?
