MSI mobo soundcard IRQ conflict

I have an MSI K7T Turbo Limited mobo. I am trying to get the built-in sound card to work. I noticed that the chosen IRQ is 11, which is what my modem and nic cards are using. Windows 98 boot will lock up solid after the splash screen disappears and before the desktop appears.

Does anyone have any experience with built-in sound cards?

i've got a MSI-5187 with onboard sound, and have no probs on it, cos it's running on irq 5, try booting into Safe Mode and change it manually, if it still crashes, it might be something else, but also try removing your modem and nic then boot normally :) :p
