I would recommend the Plextor first as it is a great drive but you can't lose with the HP either. Both good drives but the edge goes to Plextor.

Excellent choice! I use a Plextor IDE 8/4/32 CDRW on 2 systems at home and they work flawlessly! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Plextor, and use Nero as your burning software. Flawless combo for me.

I would go for the Plextor 12/10/32 with burn-proof technology...
A bit pricey, but it is the best one available right now !

Plextors are the best.Teac is also very good.I have a Teac myself. It's a 4x4 scsi and is almost 5 years old! .My grandpa paid about a 1000 bucks for it!My grandpa has a few Teac writers and copied thousands CD's with them, never had problems. He has an IDE Plextor now which is also great.I heard Teac and Plextor is all the same.Is that so?Well they're both great and have been making writers for quite some time now.
