Well, it would seem to be faster, as the P2 runs slower on some benchmarked than a celeorn A with 128kb of L2.

KillerBug 06-24-1999, 04:23 PM Well, it would seem to be faster, as the P2 runs slower on some benchmarked than a celeron A with 128kb of L2. BBA 06-24-1999, 06:43 PM Yea, a P2 runs a slower timedemo1.dm2 in Q2 than a celeron, but in the crusher.dm2 demo, the P2 doubles its score over the celeron, at least with a V2 SLI rig! Hmmm.... I bet it still works good all around, thats what the PPro 256K was like. BBA juicced 06-24-1999, 06:47 PM thanks for your input guys but I guess the question really is how much does the 256 full speed cache of the Dixon/Coppermine improve on the 128 of the Celeron. Taking a close look at the Dixon is the only way to find out at this stage. juicced 06-25-1999, 12:09 AM A little discussed subject but I'd be curious to know if anyone's run some benchmarks (Sandra for instance) to see how the PII-Dixon's with 256kb full speed cache compare to the PII's. I think it would give us a good idea of how the Coppermine will perform, vs the PIII-Katmai. Somehow I don't think it will boost it as much as the the 256kb full speed cache boosted the k6-2. For one thing it will only multiply the speed by 2 vs 4 for a K6-III 400. SysOpt.com
