Someone sent me the kakworm virus but my outlook 98 security settings notified me of it's malicious code without executing it. It's now sitting in my inbox. Is it safe to just delete it? I have norton 2000 but I don't know which folder it should scan specifically as when I do a full system scan it doesn't pick it up.Help much appreciated.

Dont worry dude just had to disinfect several work laptops that were infected! Delete away, this virus will only propagate if the contents of the e mail were displayed (apply's to preveiw pane as well). The virus basically pretends to be a signature and attaches itself to all outgoing mail as a signature (thats why you were lucky that you got the warning as just veiwing can infect!).

However if you are worried then i suggest that you delete the e mail and then search all hard drives for *.kak, kak.* if you get no results you are clean, if you get results then search www.nai.com (http://www.nai.com) for their virus library and it will give detailed instructions on manual removal.

(my spelling is terrible, my grammar is worse!)
