My sister got a second had computer, I want to update the bios, but we don't know what board it is, I tried looking inside , didn't see anything , and the bios doesn't post any usefull info. Any other sugestions?

Try searching for "SiSoft Sandra" on www.download.com
Use "Motherboard Info" tab to discover specs of your mobo.

Thats actually why I wan't to know, the machine is real slow, slower that I think it should be, so I got a couple of benchmarking utils, sandra suggest that I update my bios, sanrda just tells me Via technologies and VTech (arent they the same) are the manufacturers.

Under the manufacturer in SiSoft should be an item called "model". Is anything listed under that?
