I purchased PM6.0, followed the instructions and successfully created a 2gb FAT partition to add to the 4gb NTFS system partition which housed WIN 2K Pro. Then I could'nt do anything because of an "Error 117 Partition's drive letter cannot be identified." My backup disks do not help. When I called PM they said "run WIN 95 in your system partition and make back up disks there." I mentioned reading in their manual that WIN 95 would not run in a NTFS partition and they said "you are right, well good luck."
I've been frustrated for many months and my 7gb's are filling up while I have 53gb of unpartitioned space waiting. Help, please?

Hi there, I'm not sure of how to solve your problem.
But you could try backing up the important files on your HDD to another drive or to CD-Rs, and then booting up using a Win98 bootdisk. Then use FDISK to create partitions on the drive.
You sound like your terminal has the 8.4GB limit for HDD space. Is that the case? Then maybe you could try the method I've mentioned. I'm not sure how you could tackle the PM6.0 problem directly; sorry. :)

I have found this program to be pretty good. When you open it, does it show you have 53 GB of unallocated disc space?
You created a partition, but did you create a logical drive in it ?
Last time I used PM, it was 4.0.

To tightlines:
Trying to open PM gets error 117, partitions drive letter cannot be identified.
Trying Partition Info gets Disk Geometry error(s) were detected on this drive. Clicking OK gives me the Partition Screen which does show free space of 5265.4MB

To skuz:
I did not create a logical drive in the new partition.
This new partition also indicated:
Error #108: Partition didn't end on cylinder boundary.
ucEndHead expected to be 254, not 253.

I do not have a copy of Win 98. If I can access one I will try your suggestion. Thanks
Your drive has likely been partitioned and formatted using a drive overlay software designed for older systems, but which also work on recent ones. If your drive is indeed a bit old, you need this software installed. Maybe it has been set to make one FAT16 partition. Should you reinstall it, set it to make 1 big FAT32 or NTFS partition. If your motherboard is quite recent, follow Comage's instructions.
