Linkin' Park 10-31-2001, 02:17 PM I was just wondering what is the differance between atx and micro atx motherboards because im buying a pc chips 810 mobo and its my first time build and i don't understand wot the differance is. Thanx V_I_R_U_S 10-31-2001, 06:26 PM Well, Micro ATX is just a regular ATX board with a small surface area, but it is really the same thing. It is typically used in the really small computers. But it will fit in any ATX case. Peter M 10-31-2001, 06:27 PM mATX form factor is physically shorter, allowing only four slot positions instead of the seven on full size ATX. And initially the mATX case specification asked for a 150 Watt power supply unit, but that has long been ditched to supply Athlon, Duron and P4 with adequate power even on small mainboards. regards, Peter SysOpt.com
