http://www.analogx.com has a free proxy that works pretty good. I would recommend LockDown2000, BlackIce Defender, or some other firewall program with the cable connection. Script kiddies hit my system several times a day with NetBus, BO, and other tools.

Anyone heard anything, good or bad about the free sygate firewall? I've been useing it now for awhile on medium and it gives out my comp name, and workgroup name, but blocks everything else (stealth) at shields up. High blocks the names, but also blocks icq. It would be perfect if it had a little more config options.

In case you wanted yet another security scanning site in your bookmarks....

I haven't tried Sygate's Personal Firewall, but I might.

I'd steer clear of Lockdown2000. (haven't we already discussed this?)

Not even sure if a firewall is necessary if your system is setup properly. But ZoneAlarm is what I occasionally use.

btw, I just did a full tcp scan and got this:
You have blocked all of our probes! We still recommend running this test both with and without Secure Desktop enabled... so turn it off and try the test again.
