I have recently tried to build my own pc. I am having trouble with the boot up. All the lights on the motherboard light up and all the fans are running even on the video card, but nothing comes up on the monitor. Monitor, video card and hard drive are all known good. What may be my problem?

First of all you should check that the video card is properly fit into the agp or pci slot on the motherboard.
Second, you should see that you have correctly fit the video card cable from the monitor to the video card properly.
That's all I can think of.

Do you mean you have used parts that you put together in order to make a new computer?
Have you done a fresh install of your OS or are you having your black screen problems before that point?
I would suggest you do a search online for a motherboard manual as the online manuals seem to have at least most of the corrections in them. The printed manuals I have gotten with all of my past motherboards always a few typos in them, which can be quite frustrating. Once you find that manual, double check that all system components are compatible with your MB and double check your jumper settings.
That's about all I can recommend at this point, G'luck :-)

Try disconnecting everything from the motherboard except for the power, memory, and video card, and reseat the video card. Then try it. Is the motherboard hooked up to the speaker? If it isn't connect it, start your board, and see if it give you a POST error code (beep code), and if it does, count the number of beeps and tell if they are long or short beeps. Write it down, put it on this forum, and then I can help.

There were no beeps. I was told that the memory may be bad, is this a possibilty. It is the only part that is used
