i got a dell xps d300 and it runs slower than mollasess, i need soem optimization tips, i have a 8.4 gig ultra ata hdd, voodoo2,agp card, hardware decoder for dvd drive, and a 10mbps netowrk card for my dsl modem, and it runs slow, my friends p200 runs faster than mine! help help help !

First have you run scandisk ?
and after that run disk defragmenter?

Step 1: format hard drive
Step 2: reload OS
step 3: reload all your ****.
That seems a little extreme, doesn't it killerbug?
First, do as jayzad said, run scandisk, and defrag hd. Then run the registry cleaner. I'm guessing you have around 64MB ram, right? You might look into getting at least another stick of 64. Try cleaning out the start up menu. If you have a bunch of stuff in there that loads when you turn on your computer, that will slow things down a bit too.

Nope, I do it every month, and my system runs like water, never freeze up, except in extreme multitasking, like 17 browser windows and 2 games.
