It's just...gone!

trying to get into system properties, screen properties, IE properties, and network properties gives me this:

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

I am my system administrator! All I've done from the time it was working to now was install and uninstall the metal gear solid demo...I didn't even play it.

I'm on win me, so I could always give system restore a go, but I'll loose the programs I've installed.

Thanks.

lol, fun isn't it?
Have you asked from (latest) tweakUI to hide control panel from the settings menu on the start drawer?

You beat me to it. I wonder if this is another bug in Win NOT me.

Haha, well that was fun.

The Registry entry fixed it. Thanks otheos. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I've seen lot's of weird things but this one gave me a chill! I administer various systems and when I saw this I got scared: who the f**k is my administrator?? I had to dig up big time to find the solution and it appears to be a big bug on WinME/2000 (not 9x) and the latest 1.33 tweakUI.

The funniest part were my alternative options (if you read the original thread). All the MS failsafes had erm, failed. Fun isn't it?

We learned the hard way and then found Sysopt and now try to help others that were more fortunate to find Sysopt at an earlier stage in their computer experience.
In my own experience I had trouble all the way and I wished that I had help. I then decided to create a web site dedicated to helping out others with some of the more basic concepts of the computer.

Then I found Sysopt and have found it indespencible.

Cheers!
