Okay, I'm trying to set up 2 or 3 different hardware profiles so I can connect to the school, home and my gf's computer WITHOUT having to change the settings all the time. I can't do it! :/ Win98, I set 2 up...one for school and one for home...I make the changes to the NIC and TCP/IP. When I pick home, it boots up and RESETS everything back to the school settings!!! ARGH!! I even went ahead and bought a PCMCIA Ethernet card...waaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow...the boot time is unbelievable!! Anyway, what am I doing with the hardware profiles??

I'm not understanding, are you just trying to have multiple network setups? Hardware profiles are a totally different thing. Please clarify.

Yep, I'm trying to have multiple network setups...and I need the network card to automatically config properly so I don't have to do it every time. I tried once already and what I said up there keeps happening! My school connection is workgroup MOBILE...I tried creating a new user profile with @Home as the workgroup(for mine and my gf's house). I got the two profiles to show up, but no matter which one I chose, the NIC would always default back to MOBILE settings! I dunno http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I would setup seperate logins. I got this to work with outlook settings, might work with network settings.
