Hello everyone, I want to install 2 sb16's and a Sound Galaxy soundcard in my computer and I am having DMA problems. The sb16's take up one DMA channel each, and it has to be 0-4. The Sound Galaxy takes up two if you want to run full duplex(which I do), and they both have to be 0-4. This is most inconvenient as I don't have enough DMA's!

My current DMA's settings(from memory, I'm working and can't see my system now)
0 reserved?
1 Sound Galaxy, both!
2 Floppy Drive
3 sb16
4 sb16
5- irrelevant as windows doesn't want to set the cards higher than 4.

So everything works as long as I don't try to run full duplex for the Sound Galaxy(b/c they conflict). I would like to run full duplex, but also install more sound cards, so can I remap DMA's? Or use higher DMA channels or what? I would even be satisfied with a way to move my Floppy drive higher to free up DMA 2. I realize this is a difficult question, but any help would really be appreciated. My next step is the registry, maybe I'll have time on saturday.

Thanks in advance,
Ashur

I don't think there's a way to set floppy drive to use DMA other then 2 :(
What do you need 3 soundcards for ?!?!
And as far as I remember, SB16 uses 2 DMA channels, one for 8bit and one for 16bit output (it's usually DMA 1 for 8bit and DMA 5 for 16bit).

Best Regards ...

I'm using several soundcards so I can do multitrack audio recording. I can play drums through one card, guitar another, vocals another etc. Then I can put effects on each individual instrument without effecting the whole bunch. I can do it with one card, but it takes much longer, and it isn't nearly as cool.
