Ok I have installed all my components then ran into the stupid Fan 4beep problem. But now when ever I try to reinstall an OS I run into either problems w/ scan disk where it freezes, comes across a Fix It and freezes or just gets stuck before Scan Disk. Or when i get to to it, it says I have a Divide Overflow Error. I cant even install an OS. I have tried new cable, 3 hard drives and many start up disks. Thats when I try to install 9x kernal, with win2k I get a INF Line error. Dont know what the heck is going on, i keep formating and trying to get this bad boy to work but can, anyhelp would be apreciated.

Dude,
I have same mobo and same **** issues I have been through 3 diff OS and alot of money. there is no fix for this mobo. Flashing the bios will not work. this mobo has major USB issues and issues running a 1.4 t-bird. I personally would like to sue the **** out of ecs but I rather just get a mobo that works . I suggest you do the same also. reverse your jumpers so they are not running @ 200/266. then try installing you OS. I hope ecs goes out of buisness. Hey you know what ! you get what you pay for. Good look.

In case you didn't know, the K7VZA is rated one of the top SDRam motherboards on the market. It is a very stable and reliable motherboard. Any USB issues and related problems are the fault of the Chipset, made by Via. If your motherboard has a 266mhz FSB processor with a quality heatsink/fan, pc133 sdram, and has the latest bios, you should have minimal problems. If your OS of choice is Windows 98 or Windows ME, you are just asking for blue screens and lockups. EVERY computer running one of these OS's will eventually either Freeze, Blue Screen, or not shut down. It's what these OS's do best. If you are having problems beyond known issues with the chipset and OS's, then you have a defective board and it should be exchanged.

ECS K7VZA
1.2 Athlon 200 & volcano
Antec 300 watt
Geforce 32meg APG ( latest 4 in 1's )
Crucial 512meg @ pc133
Sound Blaster
Zoom 56k
Seagate 20 @ 7200
Asus 50x
HP 842c USB!
HP 5200 scanner USB!
WINDOWS 98SE!!!!!!!!!

Snapped it together and it's running just fine. If you can't set up Windows 98SE, or ME on a computer, don't blame it on the motherboard.

The only problem this board is known for is it's taste for ram. Buy Crucial and you will not have problems.
