I don't think it really matters for performance whether you have 2 devices on 1 IRQ or not. Some older hardware in the past allowed you to chance the IRQ,because it sometimes give conflicts to have 2 (specific) devices on 1 IRQ.This was a way to solve that problem.

Nowadays it has become kinda rare to have conflicts between 2 devices. That's why it isn't possible to change IRQ's anymore,it isn't necessary to chance them anymore.

Which is why I went back to 98SE from W2k, since W2k insisted my IRQ11 be shared with a TNT2, SBlive! and the NIC card, causing lock-ups, with no easy way to assign them manually. But W2k sure likes to leave unused IRQ's.

change your sound card to 5 or 7 you can do it in your divice manager

My Guillemont geforce and SB Live value share the same IRQ(11). Is this bad for performance? I heard it was, and I tried to change the IRQ, but neither card would let me. What can I do ???

You will probably have to move the SBLive to a different slot, depending on the motherboard.

On my mobo, an Abit BX6-R2, PCI slot 1 share resources with the AGP port and slots 4&5 share with USB. Slots 2&3 are the only ones that don't have to share resources. Your mobo probably does something similar.

Thanks all! I think i'll try moving the sound card and see what happens. My problem is, the games don't play that much better than on my old SB Riva TNT and PII266.I upgraded to a Soyo 6vba 133 and PIII-550e w/Seimans133-128mb.I thought the 3-D performance would blow away my old system!!...Would running Win95c have anything to do with it?
