Cannot see any embedded object !

Someone email me a Word document with an embedded object (Excel table) in Word 97 format. (created by Word 2000 and save it as 97 format).Once I open the Word document, everything is fine except I cannot see the embedded object and there is a blank area for that excel table file. But if I email it to my friend, he can open it with Word 97 SR-2 withyout any problems.

FYI, I am using Word 97 SR-2.

Please advisde how can I fix the problem ?
