I am just learning HTML and did not know this
would be such a problem. I made a picture
in Paint that I want to put into a Web Page.
I searched the archives, but cannot find it.
Is it possible? Is there any free software
to convert it?
BTW, the Web Page is on geocities, so I have
to upload the picture?

Amended answer:
Use the wang imaging proggy that cam with windows. It will allow you to open a bitmap and save as .gif or .jpeg (and others). Start, Programs, Accessories, Imaging. If you have Win98, you may also have the microsoft photo editor, this will do the trick also. If these are not installed, you can go into Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup tab and add either Imaging or Photo Editor.

Original answer:
There are a ton of graphics programs that will convert. You should be able to pick up a demo (functional and free) of PaintShop Pro (one I like, very easy) or some of the others.

Go to www.download.com, (http://www.download.com,) www.shareware, (http://www.shareware,) and search on graphics, and choose from the myriad of options.

Other's may offer even better options.

Thanks a million for your help-not dollars
yet but maybe someday!

I will be checking these sites out for the next couple of days. I know some people would say just draw a new picture-but pictures are like babies, you do not throw one away just because it is different or difficult.

Thank you, thank you.
