i have been on line for over 4 years now and have yet to use one and i have never ever got a bug so is there realy a need for spending all that cash on the programing and updateing it realy needed

AVP is one of the best and can be DLed free. I got NAV 2000 for $10 (just the cd w/o the Norton books). I don't use any of them myself though. I DO use forewalls for my cable connectiont hough. Avoid your buddies' shared floppies, don't open unknown email & files & stay away from sleezy chat sites & chances are in your favor.
