Not sure why Windows NT shuts down automatically....any ideas?

Are you talking about your just typing away and your pc shuts down?

Did you install any software/hardware right before this started happening?

i have not installed any software/hardware...it shuts down automatically...

I don't know if this will help, but if you have NT set to reboot if it has a stop error, this could explain the rebooting.

It's in Control Panel, System, Startup/Shutdown...last option in the dialogue box.

If this is ticked, you could look in the log to see if Stop errors are occurring.
