MSN explorer 5.0 download, any good?

My explorer 4.0 took hours to download, it was over 15 megs. Now I downloaded the 5.0 from MSN and it only took a few minutes, I don't want to extract the files unless I know it won't mess up my current system. Does it work? Is it only updating certain files for the 4.0? Thanks

When I downloaded IE 5, I had to download a setup program first (this only took a few minutes to download) once you download the setup program and you execute this setup program it then downloads Microsoft IE5 this is a big file and it takes over an hour with a 56k modem, I think it is larger than IE4, I downloaded it and installed it and then deleted it and went back to Netscape, (I not a Microsoft fan, but I had to try it)

I tried IE 5 and I wasn't happy with it. though it had a few features that I like it seems to be a little slower on searching and I had trouble connecting to some of my favorite web pages. It acts like it was trying to tell me what I wanted instead the other way around.I went back to ver 4, its ok, it lets me do more of what I want to do without to much of the influence of Microsoft.

Thanks, just what I thought, another bogged down oversized program. Just like when they said 98 boots up faster than 95. lol

I personally like IE5 better. It's been much more stable for me than IE4, and does seem to load web pages faster. My only gripe is that calling up any menu takes a little longer than I'd like, but it's nothing I haven't learned to live with. Oh, and I downloaded the full instal file from tucows, which was close to 40 meg I believe. Took me about 4 hours on my crappy AOL connection. Eli ~ I have to agree with you about GetRight. It's a great little downloading program, very efficient at what it does, especially those huge files.

Much better than cookie-monster bloated Gozilla anyday!

Getright is the best program! The only problem with it is when it expires then it gets to be a pain. I had to find a crack for it which wasnt all the easy, Most of the cracks dont work so watch out!
