 Hey guys...another newbie here.
Please Help.
I'm trying to overclock my celeron 466.
I got a Tri-Gem MoBo made for e-machines with an intel 440LX/EX chipset, and Americam Megatrends Bios.
the Board is jumperless and switchless and my Bios offers absolutely "nothing" to work with(and I mean nothing).
I'm totally stuck.

You are pretty much screwed I believe. If it's jumperless and no adjustments in the bios, theres not a whole lot you can do. Propreitary vendors tend to neuter their hardware, especially motherboards, so that the end user can't mess around with things.

Yeah I had a feeling it would end like this.....sux
oh well it's not bad for a 466 anyways. Man if only i could just raise the FSB speed.
hmmm......maybe i'll just sell it for cheap and build a system the way "i" want it...hehe:D
I don't even really know what this thing is....
Computer Geeks bought it from e-machines,scratched off the model and serial #s,tore off the face plate and sold it as a costom build...lol

Aint you guys heard of softfsb i dont know where you get it from now but it worked on my old 466 and intel al440lx mobo running a 533 i think could work at 560 but my harddrive didnt like it.
anyway its got to be worth a try hope it works for you

Because the chipset is an LX, it doesn't support fsb speeds over 66Mhz. Just buy a motherboard with a BX Chipset - they're cheap

I have the Asus P2B-F and I love it!

BTW, I have a C466 and the highest I can get it is 583Mhz, but I run it at 525 due to the higher PCI bus speed.

I treid SoftFSB and it wont work cause it wont acces pll-ic when I try to set the bus speed and I can't find my pll-ic data files.

I was wondering about the chipset.....and sandra doesn't say what speeds it supports.......Thanks mingler thats definetly need to know info.
