I'm not sure why every where I've read it takes over an hour...and on tech tv today someone said it took them over 2 hours to install
just curious how long it takes you guys/gals to do a clean XP Pro install...

Installed XP Home Edition this afternoon in 45 minutes.
PIII-700
A-Bit BX6 Rev 2 Motherboard
128 MB RAM
Installed it to a second hard drive (dual boot). That drive is a 3 year old 3GB Fujitsu.
XP runs very fast, seems quicker than 98SE. Read/writes to the hard drive seem a touch slower but think it's mostly due to the age of the drive.
Can't get sound to work though. Card is a Shuttle Spacewalker HOT-247 that works fine in Win98. Uses an Opti 82C933 chipset that apparently cannot be supported in Win2000 or XP as Microsoft changed audio standards. Oh well, can't have everything.

When I installed RC1 and RC2 it took about an hour per install , but when I installed the OEM version on my RAID 0 array it took 25 minutes ........ a benefit of "striping"
