Hi Everyone/ someone/ anyone:
After looking through this great forum I was able to find the link to id my motherboard (BIOSTAR 8500TVX-A ver 2.3) and BIOS (AMI TVX0325D)..
Here's my sit Rep:
I am trying to upgrade my old tower (Cx6x86L-P150) with a bit more speed and HDD space. I bought some additiona RAM (the computer will only recognize one bank of 64MB (I've since learned read that I probable need FPM RAM for bank 1...) that's another thread).
The Real problem:
The HDD that I bought (MAXTOR 20GB, I know not much) won't get recognized by the BIOS cause it will only see 8GB. I have found the upgrade file (thanks to this forum) at BIOSTAR.COM.TW/SUPPORT/BIOS/AMIFLASH.EXE this file decompresses FLASH818.exe. I also downloaded TVX0619B.ROM from http://www.biostar.com.tw/products/mainboard/pentium/8500tvx/bios.php3..
Bottomline is that when I run the FLASH818 in DOS mode, it tells me that the chipset is invalid, and won't allow me to input the ROM file.. What am I doing wrong here? Please help...

MoBo:MB-8500TVX-A
BIOS: TVX0325D
BIOS String: 51-0325-001223-00111111-071595-82430VX-F
RAM:64MB
HDD: BIGFOOT (something, something) 4.5GB.
will greatly appreciate any and all help..((Being stationed overseas, I can't run to the computer store and buy a new MoBo or have a tech do the upgrade)). Thanks again, in advance..:confused:
