The system started off OK, but Ithink the users did something. At first, it said mini.cab was missing, and things just got worse.
I think starting over is the best I can do.
If you can help me erase 98SE, will all subsequently entered systems(modem, printer, sound, etc.) also disappear?
Thanks for your help.

Hey i have 98se with no real problems I've heard of OS decay and that a clean install or a install on top of the existing 98se can be very good.
I recently reinstalled on top of the old one, to freshen it up,( I don't see real any difference) and then used my norton system works to strighten out the registry.
I would like to do a clean install, but I purchased the 98se upgrade disk last year, not the full version. Can I still do a clean install? it does have a folder on it labled win 98.
Sorry I know this was your topic.

Well, If you the Win98 folder with all the system file, etc., that wouldn't be a clean install.

Nope, you won't be able to do a clean-install after you format the drive, because the upgrade Win98 CD installation will look for a previous version of Windows. If there is no previous Windows installed, you will not be able to proceed with the installation.

You can do a full clean install, even after formating, from a Win 98 upgrade disk if you have any Win 95 disk. The only difference between upgrade and full editions is the line of code that says "Please insert your Win 95 disk now (for verification, no files are copied) and about $100.

Well it was just a thought, thanx
you know what they say, " If it aint broke don't fix it, tweak it!"
Thanx again.
PS I had a feeling the upgrade was missing files, that the full version had.
