Processor temperatures

What is the normal working temperature of an AMD processor - i know they tend to get warmer than Intels. I have an Athlon Thunderbird 700 with a chrome orb 1GHZ cpufan.

Temperatures when:

my computer is idle (only Win running)
37 deg. Celsius

i have been playing Half Life, SOF for more than half an hour

58 deg. Celsius

Are these normal temperatures ??

I have an Athlon classic 700, no o/c, standard dual HS/fan combo.

Off a boot, it'll be about 30°C (estimate, i use the °F system)

After playing games for a while (UT, Diablo2, etc.) it'll go up to about 37-40°C. Maybe you're running a little warm?

I have my Duron 650@950mhz right now. Highest temp. I've seen was 46C(RC5, Quake 3, UT, ect). I would think you are a little too warm too.

For an orb they are normal. Those things just don't cool well. My Tbird one gig runs about 46-48 deg celsius with a Alpha PAL6035, at 1.85 volts. This is pre artic silver, I bought some but havent got around to putting it on yet.

Í´m using a Thermal Take Chrome Orb, and i´m having trouble getting it to sit tight to the processor. It is a socket A fan.

When installing the fan, there´s a little square sticker at the bottom (gluing processor and fan together) - should i take it off and use cooling paste instead.

What fan should i use ??

I have a Global Win FOP32-1. I am getting a 60mm 38cfm Delta fan so upgrade the cooler to the FOP38. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif And I have some artic silver paste coming in so i can reach a gig with ease. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Hopefully.

Hi all!!!!!

I'm going to have to add extra cooling to mine according to sandra on hot days the temp gets to 74 cel sometimes higher. All fans seem to working ok. The case has poor ventilation though.
