I just picked up a 17" Envision 780e moniter. In the moniter menu are the following selections:

RECALL
9300K COLOR
TEMPERTURE

RECALL
6500K COLOR
TEMPERTURE

DEGAUSS

The 9300 and 6500 are temperatures in Kelvin scale. They just measure how "warm" or "cold" is the white color in your monitor. 9300K give a blueish white and 6500K a more natural white. Anything below that give a reddish white.
Degauss is a method use to de-magnetise your monitor in order for the colors to appear right. Have you ever noticed that if you change the position of your monitor or TV, sometimes there is a small or big color corruption (especially at the edges of the monitor)? Degauss corrects this...

Hope this helps
